Closing-line value is the honest signal that you are betting at a good price. The closing line is the market's sharpest number, so if you consistently get a better price than the close, your edge is real, win or lose on the day. Enter the odds you got and the line as it closed. To strip the vig fairly we also take the other side's odds at each point, then compare your fair price to the closing fair price. Positive CLV means you beat the close.
