NFL props: lines board mid-September, reads mid-October.
A prop read you can trust needs its own history: what the books hung, where the line closed, and what the player actually did. Nobody can validate that after the fact, so the desk started capturing it first. Nightly prop line capture has run since Aug 8, games that count start Sep 9, and every captured line grades against the official box score from that point on. The lines land first, the reads only after the history is graded. No fake rows in the meantime.

All of it anytime touchdown, the only prop market books hang on preseason games. That is the honest state of a prop board in August: thin. Empty nights cost the capture nothing, so it runs every night regardless, and the history compounds the moment Week 1 boards open and all six markets go live.
Where this stands, with dates
- Sep 9: games that count. The capture has been running on preseason boards since Aug 8; from the Sep 9 opener every line it takes grades against a real box score, and the graded history starts.
- Mid-September: the lines board. Every posted NFL player prop we capture across the six markets, the book that posted it, and how the number has moved since open. No read on it yet, because a read has to be earned.
- Mid-October at the earliest: the reads. A prop lean here comes from graded history only, our capture against what actually happened, and that history needs several weeks of counting games to mean anything. If the sample is not there by mid-October the board keeps saying so rather than publishing a number it cannot back.
