Spread.Take Philadelphia -4.5 at Caliente (-110), a full point cheaper than FanDuel's verified -5.5. Our -6.9 suggests value, but its unvalidated calibration exaggerates the raw 5.8-point margin; I would not treat that difference as a measured edge. The stronger argument is Washington's protection: Tunsil is on injured reserve, Coleman starts at left tackle, and new center Allegretti missed much of camp before preparing silent counts with Daniels. That creates a plausible execution disadvantage against Philadelphia's defense. Newton's absence also weakens Washington's defensive depth. These are public developments, and the move toward Philadelphia already prices some of them; DraftKings' heavily Philadelphia-weighted handle is corroboration of positioning, not proof of sharp value. The counterargument is meaningful: Philadelphia introduces Sean Mannion's offense, while Daniels and Washington's receiving options provide comeback potential. I favor the Eagles specifically at the cheaper number, with conviction restrained by unavailable current practice tables and offensive-transition uncertainty.
Total.Under 44.5 at FanDuel (-108) is a modest lean. Correcting the model's stated upward bias produces 44.02, only 0.48 below this price. Washington's compromised protection and limited center-quarterback preparation add an independent reason to expect stalled possessions, while both offensive coordinator changes introduce execution uncertainty. The over case is credible: the forecast suggests light wind, Washington lists Daniels, McLaurin and Diggs together, and Newton's absence could help Philadelphia sustain scoring drives. New schemes could also improve efficiency; I could not verify a dependable pace projection. The decline from higher opening totals has already consumed much of the under opportunity. I therefore prefer under narrowly, without treating either market movement or DraftKings' under-heavy handle as a standalone edge.
Where our number looks wrong.Returning quarterbacks and head coaches conceal substantial offensive-system changes. Washington's injury-blind rating misses Tunsil and Newton being on IR and Allegretti's disrupted preparation. Conversely, stretching the raw Philadelphia margin from 5.8 to 6.9 manufactures apparent precision without demonstrated ATS skill. The totals estimate needs the stated 1.2-point bias correction: 45.22 becomes 44.02 before matchup adjustments.

Spread. Our number (PHI -6.9) is almost two points more Philadelphia than the market, and the reason is structural: rating_v3 is frozen off Washington's 5-12, -5.6 point-differential 2025, a season Jayden Daniels played only seven games of, his last start 12/7/25 (ESPN game log, retrieved 9/9/26). The model is pricing a backup-quarterback team. The market is not, and neither should we: Washington lost only 24-17 at Philadelphia in Week 18 without him (ESPN, 1/4/26). Against that, the news genuinely subtracts. LT Laremy Tunsil (triceps) and DT Jer'Zhan Newton (pectoral) are on IR, RB1 Jacory Croskey-Merritt and edge Odafe Oweh are questionable, and guard Nick Allegretti is the center working silent counts at the Linc against Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis. A rebuilt left side against that front is why this is a lean, not a bet. Taking +5.5 buys a full point on the sharpest number.
Total. The roster facts match the move. Philadelphia's defense graded -0.083 EPA/play in 2025 and returns Carter, Davis, Baun and Fangio; Washington protects Daniels without Tunsil and with a guard at center. Philadelphia's own passing game is thinner, with A.J. Brown no longer on the roster, leaving Smith, Hollywood Brown and a rookie behind Barkley and long, clock-eating drives. Weather is a non-factor. Our totals model's 45.22 sits above the market, but its documented +1.2-point holdout bias erases that entirely. Confidence is low because the -115 price eats most of a half-point edge.
Where our number looks wrong. Two ways, pulling in the same direction. First, rating_v3 is frozen at 8/19 and fits Washington off a 2025 in which its franchise quarterback started seven games; it is effectively rating a backup-QB roster, and it also cannot see Washington's post-freeze additions (Stefon Diggs, Chig Okonkwo, Odafe Oweh, K'Lavon Chaisson, Javon Kinlaw). That inflates the Philadelphia side. Second, the calibration map stretches the raw 5.8 margin to 6.9, pushing the number further past a market that has seen everything the model has not. The honest read is that our 1.8-point gap toward Philadelphia is model error, not edge, and the dossier's own holdout record (47.6% ATS, 10.0 margin error vs the market's 9.5) says we have no right to trade on it. The one thing the model gets right by accident is the direction of the injury news, since it is blind to injuries entirely and Washington's are the worse set. That partially offsets, which is why I am at 61 and not higher.

Spread. What actually tips this for me is news the frozen, injury-blind model cannot see: starting LT Laremy Tunsil (triceps) went to IR after camp surgery, and DT Jer'Zhan Newton (pectoral) followed him to IR; Washington also lists DE Deatrich Wise Jr. out and both rotation backs banged up. That is real, fresh attrition on both fronts for Washington against a healthier division rival at home. I side with Philadelphia, but only lightly, the market had already moved this direction before I looked, so most of the edge is priced.
Total.A uniform ~2-point drop across five books looks like real information, not noise, most plausibly Washington's line collapse (Tunsil out for the year, Newton on IR) and a banged-up backfield (Croskey-Merritt, White questionable) capping scoring more than it opens up Philadelphia. Our own totals model (45.22) still sits above the 44.4-44.5 market, but it carries a documented ~1.2-point over-prediction bias versus actual closing numbers; correcting for that puts its real-world number at or below market, so it doesn't genuinely argue for the over once adjusted. Kickoff weather (84F, 40% shower chance) is a mild drag, not decisive. I side under.
Where our number looks wrong.More fundamentally, the ratings are frozen from 8/19 and the injuries table is empty for every NFL game, the Tunsil and Newton IR moves happened after the freeze and are entirely invisible to the number. But the market had already priced most of that: it moved from -4.5 to -5.5 well before this write-up, so whatever edge the injury news creates is closer to fully priced than the model's un-adjusted gap would suggest.
The call, written up
Washington is without Laremy Tunsil (triceps, IR), Johnny Newton (pectoral, IR), Trey Amos and Deatrich Wise, with Brandon Coleman at left tackle and Nick Allegretti moving to center after missing most of camp, in David Blough's first game calling plays, against a Philadelphia line that returns all five starters plus Hurts, Barkley and Goedert. The line has moved from -4.5 to -5.5 with 60 percent of tickets on Philadelphia. Our Eagles -6.9 is the model reading a 5-12 Washington season in which Jayden Daniels played seven games, so ignore it. Lay -5.5 at most; pass at -6.
Every book cut this total the same way, 45.5 to 46.5 down to 44.5, with the under juiced everywhere, and the roster facts match the move: Washington's patched line and new center-quarterback pairing, two new play-callers, showers likely in Philadelphia. Most of the value is gone at 44.5, so this is a modest under.
How to read this page
The calls come first on this page: the spread and the total, each a Pick or a Lean, then Ace, Stack and Buck one by one. The market's number, our number and the gap between them sit further down as MODEL CONTEXT: that is the input our analyst panel argued from, not a call of its own.

Model context
The numbers the panel argued from. Our models price a game, the panel makes the call, and the calls above are the call. Nothing in this block is a call. Where the panel's written case cites a raw number of its own, the calibrated number is the one printed here.
The totals number is a registered candidate that loses to the closing total: across 1,087 held out games it missed the combined score by 10.46 points on average and the closing total missed by 10.189, ahead of us in all 4 of those seasons, so it never posts to the board and never enters the record on its own.

Trends and splits
Descriptive context, every line with the games it counts. Filters like these did not hold up as predictors in our testing, so none of this feeds a call and none of it is a reason a pick wins. Situational splits look back 3 seasons and need at least 8 decided games to be shown at all. Records against the number and on the total are graded at each game's closing line, the last quote before kickoff at DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM. A game we have no capture for is graded at the number the league data carries.
