Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals. Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars +2.5. Lean: Under 51.5.
The call
The panelists
- Official Wednesday report lists six Bengals injuries, including three nonparticipants, and eight Jaguars injuries, including seven limited participants.
- Young is ruled out, Davis is on injured reserve, and Taylor said Cook and Dugger were being managed through the week.
- The teams are each 2 and 1. Jacksonville has 27.3 points scored and 12.0 allowed per game, Cincinnati has 26.7 scored and 21.0 allowed.
On the spread. Cincinnati's home offense can punish Jacksonville's banged up corners, and the Jaguars' 35 to 6 win over New England may flatter their defensive profile. If Hill, Cook and Battle are cleared while Jacksonville loses Meyers or multiple defensive starters, the case contracts sharply.
On the total. Jacksonville's secondary is also carrying multiple limited players, and Cincinnati's offense has scored 33 and 27 in its two higher scoring games. If the Jaguars' corners or Meyers are downgraded, the matchup can become a sustained passing game before the under has value.

Spread.Market first: Cincinnati laying 2.5 reflects Joe Burrow at home, a Bengals response spot after the Pittsburgh loss, and Jacksonville's 20 to 13 road loss at Denver. BetMGM's move from Cincinnati minus 2 to minus 2.5 also supports that explanation. At the captured Jacksonville plus 2.5, plus 100, I still prefer the Jaguars. Jacksonville enters 2 and 1 with a 27.3 point scoring average and 12.0 points allowed, while Cincinnati has allowed 21.0 per game. Cincinnati has already ruled out rookie receiver Colbie Young, placed slot corner Jalen Davis on injured reserve, and has several safeties and interior defenders limited or out of Wednesday practice. Those absences create a more actionable Jacksonville matchup case than the rating gap alone. The price is close enough to the key number that this is standard, not strong.
Total.Market first: 51 to 51.5 prices two productive quarterback offenses, Cincinnati's 27 point output at Pittsburgh, Jacksonville's 35 points against New England, and a favorable outdoor forecast. The move from 50.5 to 51.5 at FanDuel shows that scoring case has already been added to the number. I lean under 51 at the captured BetMGM price because Jacksonville has allowed only 12.0 points per game through three weeks and Cincinnati is missing Young while carrying meaningful uncertainty at guard and on defense. Still, 51 is a fair enough adjustment for Burrow, Lawrence and mild conditions that the model's 49.45 output is not sufficient to force a wager. The total model has also trailed the market on holdout accuracy.
Where our number looks wrong. The model's Jacksonville by 4.3 number is too aggressive. Its 6.8 point disagreement with the market leans heavily on an early season prior and treats three games of uneven opponent quality as more decisive than the market does. The injury and current form case supports Jacksonville, but not a clean Jacksonville favored projection.
- BetMGM opened Cincinnati minus 2 and moved to minus 2.5.
- Official report lists Risner as a Wednesday nonparticipant, Young as a Wednesday nonparticipant, and Young was later ruled out.
- Jacksonville has allowed 12.0 points per game, while both clubs enter 2 and 1.
- The market shows 51 at BetMGM and 51.5 at DraftKings and FanDuel, with forecast conditions at Paycor Stadium mild and low wind.
- Jaguars 35, Patriots 6 in Week 3
- Bengals lost 30-27 at Pittsburgh; Burrow 28 of 37, 282 yards, three TDs
- Bengals Wednesday report: Risner and Dugger DNP, Battle and Cook limited, Young out, Hill DNP
On the spread. Large handle on Cincinnati without line movement can mean books are happy to hold the favorite; if the Bengals safeties are rested maintenance players who all play Sunday, the injury angle disappears. Jacksonville is 0-1 on the road this year and three of its five corners are on the report against Chase and Higgins. A 3 point Cincinnati win, the most common margin, loses at +2.5.
On the total. If Cincinnati is without two or more safeties, Lawrence and the Jaguars passing game should move the ball freely, and Burrow threw three TDs at Pittsburgh and now faces a Jaguars corner room with three players on the report. Perfect weather and two efficient offenses can clear 51 easily.

Spread.Market first: Cincinnati at home with Burrow, Chase and Higgins healthy, a 2-1 start and an offense near the top ten in EPA explains a short home favorite, and books report the bulk of spread handle on the Bengals while the number holds at 2.5 with the juice shaded toward Cincinnati. Our number makes Jacksonville a road favorite, a gap of nearly seven points, but that rating still leans on the 13-4 prior and has shown no ATS edge, so I discount most of it. What the news adds for Jacksonville: the Jaguars crushed New England 35-6 in Week 3 and rank near the top of the league in defensive EPA, while Cincinnati lists all three top safeties (Cook, Battle, Dugger) plus RG Dalton Risner on the Wednesday report and DT B.J. Hill remains out. What it subtracts: three Jaguars corners are also on the report and Meyers has a thumb issue. Net, I would take Jacksonville plus the points at a captured +2.5 as a lean, not a bet, because 2.5 sits below the key number of 3 and heavy money on Cincinnati has not moved it.
Total.Market first: the week's highest total reflects two top ten offenses in EPA, Burrow and Lawrence both throwing well, a thin Cincinnati secondary and clean weather, and FanDuel has moved from 50.5 to 51.5. The over case is real. The under case: Jacksonville ranks fourth in defensive EPA and held New England to six, Cincinnati held Cleveland to three, and the Jaguars have gone under in two of three. Our totals model sits at 49.45 and runs about 1.2 high historically, which puts a fair number near 48 to 48.5, several points below the market, though the model is worse than the market on holdout. I would take the under at a captured 51.5 as a lean only; the model gap is not enough to bet against a number that has moved up on a sunny, windless day.
Where our number looks wrong. Our number of Jacksonville by 4.3 is far too strong. It is still mostly the preseason prior built on a 13-4 season and a Cincinnati 2025 defense that was among the worst in the league; the Bengals have looked better defensively in 2026 (three allowed to Cleveland) and Burrow is healthy. The calibration map also stretches the raw margin of Jacksonville by 1.8 into 6.8 of gap. The side agrees with the model, but the size of the disagreement does not.
- Jaguars Wednesday report lists three corners plus Meyers, Allen, Hamilton, Regis and Van Lanen
- Jacksonville fifth in offensive EPA per play and fourth on defense; Cincinnati ninth on offense
- Most spread money on Cincinnati while line holds at 2.5
- Sunny Sunday in Cincinnati, high near 74, no rain
- Opening total 50.5 moved to 51.5, highest total of the week
- Jacksonville defense fourth in EPA per play; under 2-1 in Jaguars games
- Bengals -2.5, total 51.5, both teams 2-1, injury lists for each side
- Covers early lean on Bengals -2.5 citing Burrow ATS record against Jacksonville
On the spread. Burrow at home against this opponent has historically covered, Cincinnati's receivers can exploit an inexperienced Jacksonville secondary, and Jacksonville's Week 3 win over New England came against an out-of-sorts quarterback. The number sits on a key number of 3 nearby, so the lean loses value if the line moves to 3.
On the total. Two efficient offenses with elite quarterbacks and an over trend in this series could push scoring past 52; equally a slower Jacksonville game script could keep it under.

Spread. The market has Cincinnati at home by 2.5, which is essentially a neutral-field pick-em plus standard home field. Both teams are 2-1 with healthy starting quarterbacks, Burrow and Lawrence, so nothing in the news explains a home favorite. The strongest case for the number is Burrow's home record against Jacksonville and Cincinnati's past ATS results in this series, but those are small-sample trends with no incremental information. Jacksonville went 13-4 last season with a clearly better point differential than Cincinnati's 6-11, and its defense has been the stronger unit early in 2026. Cincinnati's secondary and defensive line carry more practice-report questions (Hill, Davis, Young, Iosivas questionable per SI). I would take the points at 2.5 as a lean, not a bet: the edge is thin, rests on prior-season strength, and Wednesday practice reports can still move. A hook below 2.5 would end the lean.
Total. The total sits at 51 to 51.5, high for two 2-1 teams with healthy quarterbacks. Case for over: both offenses average more than 26 points per game and the over is 7-2-1 in the last ten meetings per Covers, with mild dry weather and a Cincinnati defense that allowed three touchdown passes to Aaron Rodgers. Case for under: Jacksonville's games have gone under in two of three and its defense is the stronger unit. Those trends cancel, weather adds nothing, and no availability news moves scoring. I see a genuine coin flip with no incremental evidence, so I pass without a view rather than default to an under.
- Total 51.5, under 2-1 in Jaguars games, over 2-1 in Bengals games
- Over 7-2-1 in last ten meetings
The call, written up
Jacksonville at Cincinnati, Cincinnati -2.5. The spread has barely moved: BetMGM went from 2 to 2.5 and the other books opened and sit at 2.5, while Rotowire reported most spread handle on Cincinnati this week without the number moving. Both teams are 2-1. Jacksonville beat New England 35-6 on 9/27 and allows 12.0 points per game per StatMuse, while Cincinnati lost 30-27 at Pittsburgh the same day. The Bengals' 9/30 report listed S Kyle Dugger, G Dalton Risner and DT B.J. Hill as nonparticipants, S Jordan Battle and S Bryan Cook limited, WR Colbie Young out and slot corner Jalen Davis on injured reserve. Our model makes Jacksonville a 4.3-point favorite, which the panels call too strong because it leans on last season's prior. The counter-case: Burrow is healthy at home, and two Jaguars corners plus Jakobi Meyers were limited Wednesday.
Under 51.5. FanDuel moved from 50.5 to 51.5 while other books held at 51 to 51.5. Weather adds nothing, with a sunny forecast near 74 and no rain. The counter-case: both offenses score more than 26 points a game and the over is 7-2-1 in the last ten meetings per Covers. Under 51.5 at -115 at FanDuel.
How to read this page
The calls come first on this page: the spread and the total, each a Pick or a Lean, then Ace, Stack and Buck one by one. The market's number, our number and the gap between them sit further down as MODEL CONTEXT: that is the input our analyst panel argued from, not a call of its own. A Pick is our strongest call and goes on the record. A Lean is which way we lean on a game and is not a pick. The meter shows how strongly the panel backs the call. It is not a probability or a hit rate.

Model context
The numbers the panel argued from. Our models price a game, the panel makes the call, and the calls above are the call. Nothing in this block is a call. Where the panel's written case cites a raw number of its own, the calibrated number is the one printed here.
The totals number is a registered candidate that loses to the closing total: across 1,087 held out games it missed the combined score by 10.46 points on average and the closing total missed by 10.189, ahead of us in all 4 of those seasons, so it never posts to the board and never enters the record on its own.

Trends and splits
Descriptive context, every line with the games it counts. Filters like these did not hold up as predictors in our testing, so none of this feeds a call and none of it is a reason a pick wins. Situational splits look back 3 seasons and need at least 8 decided games to be shown at all. Records against the number and on the total are graded at each game's closing line, the last quote before kickoff at DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM. A game we have no capture for is graded at the number the league data carries.
