South Florida has the cleaner road case

The favorite cases have holes, and these dogs have enough football behind their prices.

Down 0.4 units going into this board.

The price comes first. Then I ask whether the favorite has a clean answer. These do not. I will take these moneylines, and the weak spots belong in plain sight.

South Florida at East Carolina

South Florida is +110 at DraftKings. I will take it. The Bulls allow 4.8 yards per play, while East Carolina produces 5.2. East Carolina quarterback Mitch Griffis has thrown five interceptions against four touchdown passes. South Florida already showed it can manufacture scoring when its offense totaled 237 yards and its defense reached the end zone twice.

What beats it: A restricted South Florida passing attack, including unresolved receiver and offensive-line availability, lets East Carolina crowd the run and control the game.

Colorado at Arizona State

Colorado is +138 at BetMGM. I will take it. Arizona State has used seven starting offensive-line combinations across eight games, and its current starter absorbed six first-half sacks at BYU. Colorado recorded five sacks against Kansas State, then ran for 222 yards in the same game. That is a useful path to turning Arizona State’s offensive disorder into a road win.

What beats it: Arizona State’s defense again holding the run in check, as it did with 47 rushing yards allowed at BYU, takes away Colorado’s new foundation.

Oregon at Ohio State

Oregon is +245 at DraftKings. I will take it. Oregon’s revised play calling produced 336 passing yards and three touchdown passes against Northwestern. Ohio State named a quarterback for his second start after an outing with 134 passing yards before the final two possessions at USC. The favorite has talent, but that is a thin recent passing resume for this price.

What beats it: Oregon returning to its earlier scoring drought of 15, 17, and 10 points, with key player availability still unconfirmed, hands Ohio State the game.

The number pays for discomfort. I do not need the favorite to collapse. I need the dog to make the favorite answer football questions it has not answered yet.
